Job Description
- Clean and maintain church inside and out. Church needs to be dusted dust mopped (floors pews seats) and vacuumed every Friday. Wet mop the floor once a month with soap and water. Windows need to be cleaned inside and out weather permitting in church offices basement and rectory. Replace candles as needed.
- Clean toilets inside and out and use proper cleaning supplies to remove hard water stains. Clean the sinks mirrors and mop floors every Friday. Empty waste cans and keep toilet paper paper towels and cups filled.
- Clean and maintain offices and hallways.
- Clean and maintain garage and storage sheds.
- Clean and maintain church halls.
- Clean and maintain furnace rooms and storage rooms.
- In winter months the sidewalks and front entrance are to be kept snow free and salted especially on weekends before Mass.
- In summer months maintain the grounds by keeping grass mowed trimmed watered fertilized if necessary and shrubs trimmed. Move sprinklers around do not leave them in one area. Make sure that the water is not hitting the building and sprinkler heads are not along sidewalks or roadway during masses.
- Maintain underground sprinkler system for lawn.
- Roofs: Monitor snow loads and inspect for leaks.
- St Joseph Cemetery: Cut grass and trim as needed. Turn sprinkler system on/off while onsite. Drain water lines in the Fall and remove sprinkler heads. Restart sprinkler system in the Spring.
- Make facility repairs including painting as needed.
- Maintain equipment in working order organize tools and supplies.
- Empty all trash cans weekly and make sure garbage is out on trash pickup days
- Pick up mail at local post office.
- Transport inventory between parishes.
- Setup indoor/outdoor Christmas trees exterior wreaths and outdoor Nativity Manger.
- Setup/Teardown tables and chairs for events: Faith Formation Food Pantry Funeral Luncheons Meetings Bazaars Festivals etc.
- Keep water softener full of salt.
- Obtain bids for construction maintenance etc. projects upon request.
- Recycle all cardboard etc. at local recycling center.
- Ask before discarding misplaced items.
