It is responsible for imagining developing and incubating new solutions until they are brought to market particularly when it comes to offers with a high technological content (including digital and IT). IDD gathers more than 3000 employees from 70 nationalities at 60 sites.
The Customer Processes Gas Applications Life Sciences Intern will support the teams researchers and senior technician in their research projects and laboratory management activities at Air Liquides Innovation Campus Delaware (Newark DE). The ideal candidate will be from a local university and able to work fulltime over the summer. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for a college student interested in life sciences to gain handson experience in a professional research environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a safety role model; promote a high level of safety awareness; adhere to and support the continuous improvement of all safety practices /procedures (IMS).
Assist researchers with laboratory experiments and procedures such as preparing samples reagents and solutions; calibrating analytical equipment; and performing microbial plate counts.
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure cleanliness.
Record and analyze data from experiments.
Support data entry and documentation.
Support continuous improvement of the Chemical Inventory Management System implemented in Labs 431440.
Assist in 5S initiative to further organize Labs 431440.
Required
Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program in Chemical Engineering Biology Chemistry Biochemistry or a related field.
Strong interest in life sciences research.
Basic laboratory skills and knowledge of scientific principles.
Demonstrates strong safety behavior at all times.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Handson problem solving aptitude.
Capable of clear and concise written and verbal communication through reports status updates presentations etc.
Data organization and analysis.
Good collaborative and teamwork skills.
Experience in an internship or professional environment or in a laboratory environment (e.g. academia) preferred
Familiarity with water chemistry and microbiological analyses preferred
The daytoday tasks in this position are fluid so strong time management and organizational skills are preferred.
Working Conditions
The individuals working environment will vary depending on specific activities on any given day but generally will rotate between the laboratory and office areas.
Use of heavy machinery or equipment that requires specific training & authorization

Use of Computer (audio/visual equipment)
Exposure to Chemicals
This position is identified as safetysensitive and is subject to random drug testing in accordance with the current Drug and Alcohol Policy and/or state law.
