Job Summary: The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing developing and testing mechanical components and systems for our lighting products. This role involves working closely with crossfunctional teams including electrical engineering product design and manufacturing to ensure the successful development and production of highquality lighting solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development:
- Develop detailed mechanical designs including 3D models and 2D drawings for new lighting products.
- Design enclosures heat sinks and mounting systems to optimize product performance and aesthetics.
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to meet product specifications and performance criteria.
- Prototyping and Testing:
- Create prototypes using various fabrication methods (e.g. 3D printing CNC machining).
- Conduct mechanical and thermal testing to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Analyze test data and make design adjustments as necessary.
- Project Management:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to define project scope timelines and deliverables.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare detailed engineering documentation including design specifications test reports and assembly instructions.
- Ensure products comply with relevant safety and performance standards (e.g. UL CE RoHS).
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with advancements in mechanical engineering practices and lighting technology.
- Identify opportunities for improving product performance reliability and costeffectiveness.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering preferably in the lighting industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD or similar).
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of thermal management in lighting systems.
- Familiarity with materials science and selection.
