Job Description

Finance Data Governance Analyst

In the insurance industry this opportunity supports a client dedicated to strengthening Finance through datadriven transformation. The role focuses on enhancing data governance driving strategic insights and embedding quality and compliance into every stage of the Finance data lifecycle. It is an exciting position for someone who is passionate about connecting financial operations with data intelligence while working across business units to improve processes and outcomes.

What is in it for you:

Salaried: $46 per hour.
Incorporated Business Rate: $52 per hour.
12month contract.
Fulltime position: 37.50 hours per week.
Hybrid model: 2 3 days per week remote (posttraining).

Responsibilities:

Build data capabilities within Finance by applying consistent data strategies and risk considerations.
Collaborate with Finance stakeholders and crossfunctional partners in IT legal privacy and data governance on both ongoing initiatives and projects.
Manage and maintain the Data Issue Log driving resolution and escalating issues to the Data Governance Office as needed.
Contribute to the Finance Data Forums including preparing materials facilitating sessions and maintaining quarterly dashboards and scorecards.
Maintain internal documentation such as policies user guides and support materials for the Data Team.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of Chart of Account (COA) requests.
Manage and update Finance hierarchies (e.g. IFRS17 CGAAP MI) and associated reference data.
Review and assess COA intake requests contributing to continuous improvement in related processes.
Support the development of dashboards and KPIs aligned with the Finance data dictionary and Management Information inventories.
Participate in developing and implementing internal procedures and governance frameworks.
Represent Finance in Data Impact Assessments (DIA) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA).
Implement and embed internal control policies within Financerelated changes.
Collaborate with IT and governance teams to automate data quality and retention processes.
Engage with internal risk audit teams and support compliance with iCARE updates.
Oversee and maintain relevant Finance data on SharePoint and support reporting needs.

What you will need to succeed:

Bachelor s degree in a relevant field.
CPA/CA designation or currently pursuing.
3 years of experience in financial analysis reporting or working in a datadriven environment within Finance or P&C Insurance.
Proven knowledge of data management and data stewardship principles.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; experience in data profiling is an asset.
Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel PowerPoint Word Visio).
Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Qlik Sense and Business Objects.
Familiarity with financial systems particularly Oracle.
Bilingual fluency in English and French to support collaboration with internal teams and clients across both official languages.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
