Job Description

Job Summary:
We are looking for a friendly and efficient Restaurant Cashier with experience using the Toast POS system to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service process transactions accurately and ensure a smooth dining experience for our guests.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with placing orders.

  • Operate the Toast POS system to process payments (cash credit/debit cards mobile payments and gift cards).

  • Ensure accurate handling of cash and balancing the register at the end of each shift.

  • Provide menu information and answer customer questions regarding food and beverages.

  • Assist with packaging takeout orders and ensuring order accuracy.

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure a seamless workflow.

  • Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and dining area.

  • Handle refunds discounts and loyalty programs as per company policy.

  • Assist with closing duties including counting cash reconciling transactions and generating sales reports.

  • Follow all health safety and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience as a cashier in a restaurant setting is preferred.

  • Proficiency with Toast POS system is required.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and multitask effectively.

  • Basic math skills and attention to detail for handling transactions accurately.

  • Reliability professionalism and a positive attitude.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift to 25 lbs.

High school diploma or GED. ServSafe food handling certification is preferred. Sound knowledge of cooking methods and techniques. Proven experience working as a Cook. The ability to follow recipes. The ability to work in a team. The ability to stand for extended periods. Effective communication skills.
