Job Description

Your new role

As our new EIA Consultant you will bring your knowledge of EIA into play as you support the coordination of statutory and nonstatutory environmental assessment processes across major development proposals for a range of sectors including onshore & offshore energy property & development datacentres and major infrastructure projects. To succeed in this role you should be able to apply environmental consenting processes in the UK as well as have an understanding of wider planning processes and regulations.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Supporting project team management and client liaison together with assisting on business and client development
  • Working in multidisciplinary teams on the coordination management and delivery of EIAs including taking responsibility for leading elements of smaller projects and delivering parts of larger schemes
  • Desk based environmental baseline data collection and interpretation including site visits
  • Report writing and preparation of figures including drafting Environmental Statement introductory chapters undertaking cumulative assessments and preparing nontechnical summary documents
  • Stakeholder liaison including preparing materials for and assisting with stakeholder meetings and public consultations

Your new team

You will be part of our UK Impact Assessment team which forms part of our Global Impact Assessment Service Line. The Service Line has been established to drive further growth and specialisation in Impact Assessment globally building on our existing successes through a continued focus on national impact assessment work alongside targeting large strategic projects no matter where these occur within our geographic strongholds or beyond. Our UK business employs 300 environmental science professionals in 14 locations and covers a breadth of consulting services structured around impact assessment compliance strategy and transactions ecology and biodiversity new initiatives and sustainability product safety and stewardship contaminated land and water. Our clients include UK and global multinationals utilities local and central government and international institutions. About you

  • Appropriate degree in environmental sciences or a related environmental or scientific discipline
  • Masters degree in an environmental discipline (advantageous)
  • Prior EIA coordination experience on complex projects (advantageous)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Full clean driving licence
