The Compliance Engineer will be integral to Caterpillars New Product and New Technology programs supporting engineering teams developing Drivetrain Components Batteries Chargers and Fuel Cells to ensure compliance with product regulations and safety standards.
The role involves understanding design features ensuring validation and test reports meet industry standards compiling compliance evidence and delivering to NPI timelines. This includes communicating requirements to engineers completing Risk Assessments interpreting industry standards and reviewing design solutions.
The team focuses on product regulation standards and compliance. The Compliance Engineer interprets regulatory requirements and assists engineering teams in adhering to them. Paul collaborates daily with product development validation and test engineers to ensure designs tests and reports meet legislative and safety standards. The team works on electrificationbased products such as battery systems chargers inverters motors and more. Additionally Paul develops documentation to demonstrate compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
Requirements:
Bachelors with 5 years in product development design testing or validation.
Masters w/ 3 years.
Mechanical or Electrical degree is ideal.
Backgrounds in electrical or mechanical engineering are acceptable.
Candidates with electrical harness experience are considered if they understand system integrations.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work dynamically and selfmotivate.
Capability to collaborate with engineers from various disciplines.
Understanding of designing or testing electrical products.
Knowledge of safety aspects such as internal resistance testing overvoltage categories creepage clearance and functional safety.
