Job Description
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide 1:1 support to an elementary student in a Montessori school setting. The student benefits from inthemoment coaching during transitions and during specialist classes (art music physical education spanish nature etc.. This role involves supporting the student in navigating social interactions following group plans maintaining regulation and building independence in the learning environment. Supervision will be provided by the Director of Learning Support along with consultation from the Speech Language Pathologist making this an ideal opportunity for a candidate seeking to build their student support skill Responsibilities:Provide individualized support during classroom transitions ensuring the student is able to engage effectively with both academic and social inthemoment coaching and guidance during specialist classes helping the student follow the group plan and stay the student in developing communication skills especially in pragmatic language by encouraging appropriate verbal interactions with peers and with behavioral management techniques as needed promoting selfregulation and appropriate classroom with the Director of Learning Support and Speech Language Pathologist to align strategies and provide consistent communicate with the students family to provide updates on progress challenges and an environment of inclusion helping the student build positive relationships with :Prior experience working with students in a school or educational setting ideally with students who need help with pragmatic language and social skills and maintaining to provide warm clear inthemoment coaching that is least likely to draw attention from others with awareness of when to step back and when to step empathy and a strong commitment to the students communication skills both written and to work independently and as part of a collaborative team with the teachers Director of Learning Support and the students to Apply:Interested candidates should submit a resume and a brief cover letter outlining their experience and interest in the role to the Director of Learning Support Joanna Steffey at
