The Cell Science Scientist is responsible for Rabbit monoclonal antibody development by culturing cell lines and providing screening and validation materials for various ELISA WB ICC IHC FC and IP experiments on time and to high standards.
This position reports to the Head of Antibody Characterization and is part of the Antibody development platform located in Waltham MA and will be onsite. At Abcam our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain and culture frequently used suspension and adherent cell lines provide cell lysates and biological samples for downstream antibody screening and validations such as sELISA WB ICC IHC FC and IP.
- Culture primary cells perform transient transfection and cell treatments according to the validation requests.
- Establish stable cell lines by performing transfection stable pool generation singlecell cloning and selection.
- Work closely with RA scientists and project stakeholders to make project progress smoothly.
- Update the experimental information on internal database manage and regular maintain instruments and inventory maintain high quality standards within the lab.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Ph.D. degree in Cell Biology Biochemistry Immunology or a related field.
- Hand on experiences in mammalian cell culture transfection and cell treatments. Experience in establishing stable cell lines is preferred.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to details multitasking and troubleshooting skills.
The salary range for this role is $100000 $110000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
