Job Description

We are on the lookout for an Oasis Program Manager to join our team!

As the Oasis Program Manager you will work closely alongside people from all diverse backgrounds to provide a welcoming haven for neighbors to find refreshment and nourishment through our community meal.

As a gifted strategic critical thinker and leader who can execute vision you will also develop train care and lead teams with maturity patience and tact.

You are an empathetic and compassionate relationship builder with strong conflict resolution skills. You have a strong sense of self and the ability to observe boundaries. You know what it takes to adapt to a constant changing bring strong collaboration problem solving communication and program design and management skills.

WAYS YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
Planning and management 60:
  • Oversee the daytoday operations of Oasis Caf including set up planning meal prep service and cleanup including:
  • In collaboration with the Food Coordinator and food service employees oversee the delivery of healthy and nutritious meals within budget including procuring supplies and food donations
  • Equip employees and volunteers in their roles to serve at Oasis Caf
  • Oversee and participate in facility maintenance such as sweeping mopping keeping storage rooms/closets organized and neat and taking out the compost recycling and garbage
  • Facilitate premeal team meeting as well as a postmeal debrief
  • Complete incident logs as required
  • Maintain policies procedures and standards which ensure ministry effectiveness and safety of volunteers and guests such as facilitate training for employees and volunteers specifically with Food Safe guidelines and Tenth Churchs Good Neighbour Agreement
  • Manage and address emergencies incidents conflicts and risks as they arise
  • Liaise with the Facilities Manager and local Environmental Health officer to ensure Oasis Caf is operating in compliance with health regulations
  • Support Shelter partnership through food preparation
  • Provide leadership direction and guidance to Oasis Caf staff
Community engagement 30:
  • Strengthen and support partnerships with local churches nonprofit organizations businesses and other community partners
  • Mobilize the congregation to serve at Oasis Caf
People management 30:
  • Support volunteer management inclusive onboarding coaching scheduling and recognition
  • Accountable for supervising Oasis Caf food service employees and staff Oasis Caf staff
Other 10:
  • Attend staff meetings training retreats as required
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Postsecondary education in Christian theology community development social service work or other relevant human services field is required; an equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered
  • Completion of Occupational First Aid (Level 1 NonViolent Crisis Training Mental Health First Aid and FoodSafe (Level 1 preferred or willingness to learn
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working closely with and relating to people in vulnerable populations or an equivalent combination of education and training
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated experience in managing programs volunteer management nonprofit management or other related experience
  • Previous experience in building interagency partnerships
  • Food management or social services experience is an asset
  • Ability to manage and lead change and to think strategically develop leaders and build consensus around a vision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective listening and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment quick to problem solve and deescalate conflicts as they arise and an ability to maintain harmonious relationships while leading with emotional maturity
  • Strong sense of self and ability to observe boundaries engage in appropriate emotional regulation refrain from dual relationships with employees and guests maintain confidentiality and engage in reasonable selfcare strategies designed to reduce stress by balancing work / life responsibilities
  • Strong ability to work under minimal supervision and act with a high degree of integrity independent judgement taking action on a variety of matters as required
  • Ability to work and empathize with people who may have experienced abuse poverty grief and loss oppression violence mental health challenges substance use or may be living with lifelimiting or lifethreatening conditions
  • A developmental mindset engaging in ongoing learning working on their weaknesses and striving to improve
  • Be action oriented concerned about quality output and willing to problem solve and coach others when necessary
  • Ability to provide Christian spiritual support to the community
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Mature individual who possesses a deep and vibrant faith in Christ with a desire to foster spiritual growth in others and experience mutual spiritual transformation
  • Compassionate humble and teachable spirit with the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
Other Requirements:
  • Must obtain Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Access to a vehicle along with a valid BC drivers license and clean driving record
  • Agreement with Tenth Churchs Statement of Faith and the policies outlined in Tenths Employee Handbook

This a fulltime position where you will work 30 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with experience; the salary range is $42000 per annum $47049.60 per annum.
