Job Description

Position Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for handling and moving materials throughout the plant to ensure timely transportation of products to internal and external customers. This role requires operating a tow motor safely while maintaining inventory accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload materials to and from designated storage areas such as racks shelves or vehicles (e.g. trucks).
  • Stack or pile materials as required for efficient storage and transport.
  • Shrink wrap and band material to prevent shifting or damage during transportation.
  • Store items according to company specifications.
  • Receive and track materials in the QAD system.
  • Create and attach identifying tags and labels or mark containers with necessary information.
  • Ensure that all safety precautions are observed while handling materials and operating equipment.
  • Work closely with teams to maintain efficiency in production and shipping & receiving departments.
Experience:
  • No prior experience required; experience driving a tow motor is preferred.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong handeye coordination and physical dexterity.
  • Ability to read and follow basic work instructions.
  • Awareness of safety regulations and ability to function in an environment where safety rules are strictly adhered to.
  • Ability to note danger or warning symbols and respond appropriately to safety signals.
  • Physical capability to handle materials maintain a steady hand and operate machinery efficiently.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent lifting bending and operating machinery.
  • Ability to operate a tow motor safely.
  • Strong visual acuity for monitoring materials and equipment.
