Job Description

Chaloner has partnered with The Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA) on a search for an Associate Global Programs Markets & Policy. The Associate will report to the Manager Global Programs.

Position Overview:

The Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA) works to solve the toughest market and policy barriers and deploy solutions for energy customers to pursue clean energy and decarbonize grids. CEBA launched Global Programs in 2023 to accelerate clean energy procurement to achieve our mission of lowcost reliable carbon emissions free global energy systems. This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a growing team that is actively expanding a global portfolio of projects and programs to deliver on these goals.

We are seeking an Associate to support the development and of CEBAs Global Programs market and policy portfolio. CEBAs market and policy portfolio is concentrated in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region where growing corporate clean energy demand from CEBA members and their supply chain companies continues to outpace supply due to policy and market constraints. The Associate will support all activities related to CEBAs global market and policy teams core initiatives of 1 advancing policy and regulatory initiatives to expand market access and investment to accelerate clean energy deployment; and 2 expanding and improving the menu of clean energy procurement options through targeted policy advisory and advocacy activities.

Core Responsibilities:

The Associate will be responsible for providing essential support in the design and of the Global Market and Policy teams programmatic portfolio including research and analysis member engagement communications events partnerships and business development. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Research & Analysis: provide research and analytical support on key issues related to corporate clean energy procurement and market and policy barriers in APAC. Support the development of CEBA global resources including policy and market briefs playbooks reports presentations etc.
  • Program Communications: develop and/or contribute to written updates for newsletters presentations to Board of Directors members and partners and website and social media content in coordination with the Global Programs and Corporate Communications team.
  • Program Reporting and Evaluation: track and report on CEBAs market and policy activities to inform progress on goals.
  • Member Engagement: act as the main liaison between the Global Programs market and policy team and CEBA new and potential members. Lead planning and of monthly Global Policy Team member meetings.
  • Partner Collaboration: support the facilitation and growth of ongoing and new partnerships in the delivery of collaborative events resources and other activities.
  • Program Events: provide logistical support and content development and curation for workshops meetings webinars and other discussions to advance programmatic goals.
  • Business Development: provide support on business development and fundraising initiatives including development of concept notes proposals and presentations.
  • Program Strategy: support development and refinement of Global Policy & Markets strategy including theory of change approach and methodology goals and objectives etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree and 5 years of experience or masters degree and at least 2 years of experience.
  • Relevant experience: demonstrated experience in and knowledge of clean energy policy programs and markets.
  • Results driver: exceptional organizational task management and prioritization skills and ability to execute and deliver on tasks and project responsibilities amidst multiple competing deadlines. Driven by impact and organizational success.
  • Critical thinker: ability to identify analyze dissect and explain complex problems and apply analyses models and structures to develop and propose effective solutions.
  • Impactful communicator: excellent crosscultural competency and communication skills including the ability to listen actively and effectively and present key points clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing to different stakeholders. Able to lead and facilitate group discussions effectively within and outside the organization.
  • Team partner: a connector who can work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders identify risks and challenges and proactively solicit/provide constructive feedback and support.
  • Change champion: demonstrate initiative to improve processes and solutions with peers. Willingness to support new initiatives flexibility to adjust priorities when new information is presented and capacity to handle unexpected challenges in a fastpaced work environment.
  • Software Skills: advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite; understanding of and experience with project management tools (ex. Monday) and other software platforms to design and execute program activities.
  • Vision and Mission aligned: shared passion for CEBAs mission ambition and core values of Respect Integrity Service and Excellence (RISE).

Desired and/or Additional:

  • Experience and knowledge of clean energy markets and policy in the APAC region.
  • Working proficiency in Korean or Japanese.
  • Experience and knowledge of corporate clean energy procurement.
  • Experience and knowledge of how to use AI to accelerate research analysis and program activities and deliverables.

Physical Demands:

  • Participating in late night or early morning meetings with members and partners located in the AsiaPacific
  • Domestic and potential international travel to support member engagement and programmatic activities

The Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA) has over 400 members representing more than $20 trillion in market capitalization including the worlds largest clean energy buyers energy providers service providers and nonprofit organizations.
