Engineer Intern 1 $26.44 hourly / $2115.20 biweekly
Engineer Intern 2 $28.29 hourly / $2263.20biweekly
Engineer 3 $33.39 hourly / $2671.20biweekly
Engineer 4 $36.90 hourly /$2952.00 biweekly
Engineer 5 $39.48 hourly /$3158.40 biweekly
This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG)and may be filled as an Engineer Intern Applicant Engineer Intern 1 Engineer Intern 2 Engineer 3 Engineer 4 or Engineer 5level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.
NOTE:
This is a temporary position to be utilized while the incumbent is securing a Louisiana Engineer Intern certificate. Permanent status shall be denied to incumbents occupying this position.
NOTE:
Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificates are issued by the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board. Licensing requirements may be viewed at .
FUNCTION OF WORK:
To apply scholastic theory and elementary engineering skills to a variety of tasks involving standard procedures and practices in the field office or laboratory in order to acquire practical experience for licensure.
LEVEL OF WORK:
Entry.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Close from a higherlevel engineer.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Functional supervision may be exercised over Engineering Technicians.
LOCATION OF WORK:
May be used by all state agencies.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Engineering Technicians and other related jobs by the presence of responsibility for applying engineering principles under close supervision.
Differs from Engineer Intern 1 by the absence of a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.
This highly responsible professional engineering position which utilizes technical skills and the application of scientific principles in the prevention and control of communicable disease transmission related primarily to drinking water and domestic wastewater. Many tasks are of a highly specialized complex technical nature requiring extensive training and experience that in many instances must be performed in the absence of supervision.
