Job Description

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) Coordinator Apprentice works closely alongside EMIS Support Specialists to develop skills and knowledge related to EMIS. Once trained the EMIS Coordinator will begin reporting EMIS for contracted schools.

This position will work in either our Dayton or Piketon office at least 1 day per week and remote at most 4 days per week as schedules permit.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Participate in a structured training program to develop a comprehensive understanding of EMIS reporting
  • Work closely with META EMIS Support Specialists to learn all aspects of EMIS
  • Meet all milestones in the EMIS training program
  • Stay informed of any updates and changes in EMIS reporting
  • Attend META ODE and other EMIS trainings
  • Attend conference calls webinars meetings and conferences regarding EMIS
  • Attend conferences as appropriate
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive staff and student data
  • Maintain adherence to the Family Education Rights Privacy Act (FERPA) at all times
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates degree or higher or equivalent work history
  • Experience in Infinite Campus or ProgressBook
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Excel
  • Must maintain valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record for insurance coverage (travel to meetings and conferences may be required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral communications
  • Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members and districts
  • Ability to react productively to frequent interruptions and changing conditions
  • Ability to accurately discern detail in written statistical and tabular materials
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to learn new technologies and skills
