Job Description

Overview
The Corporate Security and Safety Officers position within the IT Governance focuses on safeguarding and safety of corporate assets premises and personnel. This position is responsible for maintaining a secure and safe environment via monitoring Zoot physical security systems on a daily basis. Their duties will include daily log review surveillance via CCTV burglar alarm systems access control visitor management systems patrolling emergency response and enforcing company security policies. This position will play a critical role in assessing physical security risks mitigation of those risks preventing incidents and ensuring the safety and physical security of the organization.
The person in this position will be a licensed Private Security Guard through the State of Montana Board of Private Security and may need to respond to onsite situations outside of normal daytime work hours.
The Information Governance Group focuses on the compliance of Zoots Information Security Program which includes creating enforcing auditing and promoting company policies standards and guidelines and procedures.

Job Functions
  1. Serve as Corporate Security and Safety Officer for both the Bozeman and Billings location taking accountability for the life and safety of its occupants and working with Physical Security systems to ensure our protocols are followed. This includes greeting vendors clients job applicants and other visitors in a professional manner and follow appropriate security measures for proper guest checkin. Be aware of all nonZooters in the building at all times.
  2. Identify potential physical security threats safety threats vulnerabilities and risks to Zoots employees its properties and its operations. Recommends improvements in security systems safety concerns or procedures to the IT Governance manager.
  3. Oversees physical security for both the Bozeman and Billings location.
  4. Maintain a visible presence and enforce security process to deter unauthorized physical access and work with IT Governance Manager to mitigate those identified security risks.
  5. Maintain and implement emergency response plans including evacuation procedures crisis communication and coordination with external emergency services.
  6. Collaborate with IT members where needed to ensure identified mitigating controls are in place and working as designed.
  7. Train employees on Zoots emergency protocols workplace safety perform physical security level 1 and 2 training and perform employee day one physical security function.
  8. When applicable perform closing duties including but not limited to: managing badges and keys locking and unlocking doors turning on and off lights. As well the ability to respond to afterhours situations onsite as needed. Ensure the Zoot lobby provides a favorable first impression to all who enter the building.
  9. Drive compliance with Zoots safety and security processes and provide leadership around following proper procedures in emergency situations.
  10. Conduct and track security audits to identify potential problems related to physical security staff safety or asset protection.
  11. Is Responsible for implementing Zoots security systems.
  12. Aid with video surveillance motion detection or closedcircuit television systems to ensure proper installation and operation. As well as daily and weekly logs.
  13. Where applicable engineer install maintain or repair security systems programmable logic controls or other securityrelated electronic systems.
  14. Schedules the implementation or inspections of fire systems alongside the Fire System Integrator and/or Fire Department.
  15. Per mandated schedules perform inspections of security design features installations or programs to ensure compliance with applicable standards or regulations.
  16. Prepare maintain or update security procedures security system drawings or related documentation including review security logs and files daily to document any security issues that arise in all Zoot locations to prove compliance to laws and regulations required by clients and auditors.
  17. Serve as Zoots fire marshal ensuring our fire and emergency evacuations procedures are up to date running regular fire drills keeping onsite medical supplies and emergency equipment (AED) up to date coordinating first aid and CPR certification training and maintaining relationships with external first responders.
  18. Under Zoots Proprietary Security Organization license obtain a State of Montana Board of Private Security Private Security Guard license with firearm endorsement. Complete 16 hours of prelicensure training 8 hours of annual continuing education training related to physical security procedures and pass a Board approved Certified Firearms Training course and annual requalification required for firearm endorsement.
  19. Compliance with and knowledge of Zoots Policies and Procedures Code of Business Conduct and Employee Agreement.

Education Training and Experience Requirements
This position requires:
High School Diploma
Associates Degree Criminal Justice Security or related field required.
Years of Experience 3 years of experience in physical security and customer service. Previous private security military or law enforcement experience preferred
or an equal combination of education and experience.
Certifications/Licenses required:
Once hired must be able to hold State of Montana Board of Private Security Guard license with firearm endorsement.
Alarm Installers License Resident Managers License (if applicable) Security Guard License (if applicable) and Armed Security Guard License (if applicable).
Physical Requirements
  • All positions at Zoot require the ability to move about inside an office environment which includes the operation of computers and other office productivity machinery and frequently communicates with other employees clients vendors and visitors.
  • This position specifically requires long periods of sitting at a computer work station and occasional moving around the building as related to physical security demands.
  • This position may require lifting up to 25lbs.
Working Conditions
  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
Work Hours and Location
  • It is expected that exempt employees and specifically this position regularly and consistently report to work onsite at Zoots Bozeman MT location during normal business hours or as indicated by manager.
  • This position will require travel 0 of the time.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
