Job Description

As Heartland Family Service continues to serve the most vulnerable individuals and families in our community we are looking for reliable adaptable and passionate therapists to help us engage and provide therapeutic services to people who have a history of or currently living with mental health and/or substance use needs.

A BIT ABOUT US

Founded in 1875 our agency has grown over the years to address most of the challenges children adults families and communities face across the lifespan including substance use child abuse and neglect domestic violence/sexual human trafficking homelessness juvenile justice mental health neighborhood distress and poverty. Today we offer 42 programs from 20 locations in east central Nebraska and southwest Iowa. THE OPPORTUNITY

Diverse therapeutic responsibilities that include assessment individual therapy group therapy crisis intervention and trainings opportunities. Ability to work with a diverse population of clients with cooccurring disorders utilizing evidenced based practices. Encouragement to explore your passions and areas of specialization and explore opportunities to grow within the agency. There are multiple exciting opportunities throughout the agency including outpatient residential cooccurring early childhood SPMI communitybased work inhome therapeutic school settings and schoolbased services. Here at HFS you can choose your desired population.

Compensation: provisional therapist starting at $50000 per year.
Work Schedule: Monday Thursday 8:30am to 5pm; Friday 8:30am to 2:30pm with one evening.

WHAT YOULL BRING

You could be perfect for this opportunity if youve had at least two years previous related experience and a masters degree in Social Work or related field. Additionally preferred licensure includes: CADC PLADC LADC PLHMP LMHP LIMHP. We are looking for someone who can build strong rapport with diverse groups and who is exceptionally reliable organized detailedoriented and takes a trauma informed approach to engaging with clients. THE SKILL SET

Within 3 months youll:

  • Attend weekly supervision monthly clinicals (regular trainings within agency and time to collaborate with clinical colleagues
  • Complete onboarding program designed to get you up to speed on our business vision departments programming and team and gain an understanding about how your role fits into Heartland Family Services broader organization mission and strategy.
  • Attend new employee orientation training to learn the mission of the organization how we are doing where we are going and our overall agency philosophy.
  • Work with team and manager to understand work expectations and set goals for the first three months in the role
  • Get to know our policies procedures and clinical tasks and processes
  • Be introduced to and ramped to use Evolve (electronic health record).
  • Partner with manager to define key success metrics for your role and how to keep track of your progress
  • Weekly supervisions with supervisor monthly clinicals with therapists across the agency.

3 6 months youll:

  • Develop a case load
  • Continue to learn about programs across the agency
  • Network with partner agencies and others in the community
  • Increase knowledge of clinical skills theory and practice

6 12 months onwards youll:

  • Cross training in other programs
  • Increase of training opportunities
  • Move towards independent practice with consultation
  • Identification of goals to build areas of specialization and passion
