The Controller role is responsible for accounting operations debt compliance reporting and supporting our executive leadership team. This role will spearhead our accounting processes and system. You are highly motivated and have a passion for accounting. You are detailoriented and enjoy facing the challenges of accounting in a high growth software and professional services organization. Most importantly you have experience with accounting within a software company and are looking to join a growing team!
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage an Accounting Manager and Staff Accountant.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Management of revenue recognition for software license and maintenance renewals.
Invoicing and cash collections from customers.
Implementation of new accounting policies and improvement of internal control procedures.
Intercompany Transactions and transfer pricing (UK Entity).
Perform all balance sheet reconciliations and monthend journal entries.
Ensure all sales and business tax filings are made timely and accurately.
Bonus and commission calculations.
Own the payroll function for both US & UK entities.
Provide information to and partner with external accounting firms (e.g. execute annual audit and tax credits research).
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience researching and applying GAAP in the areas of Software Revenue Recognition (ASC 606 Foreign Currency Consolidations and Capitalization of Software Development costs.
Active CPA license.
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance. Masters degree preferred.
57 years of accounting experience with a software venture capital or private equity firm.
Experience supervising multiple direct reports in the areas of Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and Payroll.
QuickBooks Online Intaact NetSuite Avalara SalesForce Amazon QuickSight (AWS) or similar.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including conditional logic pivot tables and data visualization.
Experience implementing and migrating to a new accounting platform is a plus.
Industry experience with SaaS Software sales and Professional Services sales models is a plus.
Location: Candidates in the Atlanta metro or Denver area are preferred. Remote applicants within the US will be considered.
