Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Prepare detailed analysis design and project deliverables including drawings specifications and reports for general marine terminal infrastructure. Prepare design criteria and construction specifications. Prepare quantity takeoffs and assist in the preparation of capital cost estimates. Conduct field work and support during construction. Attend project coordination meetings and liaise with project team members clients subconsultants contractors and regulatory and environmental approval agencies. Liaise with clients to determine client requirements and prepare proposals design work cost estimate and project scheduling. Mentor/direct junior staff and review their works. Actively encourage and support a safetyoriented culture. Travel as required for various field programs.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a degree in civil engineering from an accredited postsecondary institution (a masters degree is preferred). Relevant years of experience in marine structural engineering/research or a related discipline. Registered or eligibility for registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer. Design and inspection experience in marine structures including docks marinas ports piers steel sheet pile structures steel timber and concrete pile structures floating structures and waterfront facilities. Experience in large scale industrial and maritime projects. Port layout and planning experience. Experience with tides currents wave and wind forces. Experience with berthing mooring and passing ship analysis. Experience with seismic design structural analysis software. Experience with MOTEM standard. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and verbal).
For applicants based in the province of British Columbia the salary range is CAD $98976 to $145553.
