A Brief Overview

Responsible for providing efficient and effective guidance and broad supervision of all staff in the department with primary focus on the security areas.

What you will do

  • Assists in the management of parking access control badging and policy enforcement all while ensuring daily logs are accurate for monthly reports.
  • Coordinates security responses to emergencies make independent decisions to resolve situations and use deescalation techniques to prevent conflict escalation. Responds promptly to incidents and ensure incidents are investigated evidence is collected and documented in reports.
  • Provides input for the development of the annual department budget (i.e. capital equipment needs staffing reports). Reports security concerns threats and vulnerabilities to relevant authorities and hospital staff.
  • Assists in developing emergency response plans for disasters coordinate emergency drills to enhance staff proficiency and maintain strong relationships between law enforcement and the hospital.
  • Ensures adherence to all hospital security policies and procedures while assisting with the collection of evidence and maintenance of records as needed by the Quality Assurance Department Joint Commission accreditation OSHA guidelines or as maybe required by law.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing hiring developing training and retaining employees; planning assigning and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Qualifications

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others hear understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:

  • Associates or equivalent from a twoyear college or technical school plus six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Drivers License Licensing Board
