Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic innovative and qualityoriented Fire Protection Engineer with a minimum of eight years of experience to perform consulting services for internal and external clients. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills along with a highlevel ability to manage multiple clients and multiple projects at one time.

Technical skills will include but not limited to: automatic suppression system design; fire detection alarm and communication system design; code analysis; egress analysis; fire resistant construction analysis; smoke control analysis; as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.


Qualifications :

Desired Skills and Duties

  • Develop client relationships pursue new business opportunities and develop proposals.
  • Provide project management for multiple projects including project planning staffing financial management and successful project delivery.
  • Provide fire protection consulting engineering services to a variety of potential clients including but not limited to architects developers owners government and insurers.
  • Provide fire and life safety code consulting for relevant ICC (IBC IFC IMC) codes and NFPA standards.
  • Develop fire models smoke control models/analysis and pressurization models/analysis.
  • Review and provide consulting for life safety building and fire code compliance.
  • Perform structural fire calculations.
  • Develop fire safety strategies for special hazards.
  • Deliver prescriptive and performancebased design strategies.
  • Design fire alarm fire detection and fire suppression systems.
  • Review develop and commission smoke control systems.
  • Perform site visits and communicate with AHJ architects contractors and consulting teams.
  • Participate in and lead internal team meetings and external client meetings.
  • Present design approaches with authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across multiple offices in a multidiscipline environment.
  • Manage profitability of projects and maintain working relationships with clients.
  • Perform research and documentation for internal and external distribution.
  • Attend and participate in local and national trade organizations such as SFPE and NFPA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (B.S. in Engineering from accredited college or university in Fire Protection Engineering Fire Sciences or related engineering field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of professional working experience in Fire Protection.
  • A minimum of 2 years managing projects.
  • A P.E. license in Fire Protection Engineering or in the process of achieving this professional credential.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for a teambased and teamleading working environment.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills required for our fastpaced environment; must be highly motivated proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
  • Solid understanding of relevant software including FDS CONTAM egress modeling software AutoCAD Revit BlueBeam and the Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Experience with MS Office programs
  • Desire to work as a proactive team player
  • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills

Salary Range $110000 $150000
