Position: OnCall Substitute School Nurse
Reports to: Director of School Operations
Work Site: The Main Street Academy College Park GA
Position Type: Hourly $40 per hour / AsNeeded Basis
Job Summary:
The Main Street Academy is seeking compassionate and dependable healthcare professionals to serve as OnCall Substitute School Nurses. This perdiem role is ideal for EMTs LPNs RNs and CMAs who want to earn in a rewarding educational environment. The nurse will provide essential health services to students and staff supporting a safe and healthy school community.
Required Qualifications:
Licensed EMT LPN RN or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the state of Georgia
CPR/First Aid/AED Certified (Adult & Pediatric required)
School nursing or pediatric experience preferred
Familiarity with common childhood illnesses chronic conditions (asthma diabetes seizures) and first aid practices
Ability to work independently multitask and respond calmly in urgent situations
Excellent communication documentation and organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and external partners
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess and manage minor injuries and common illnesses
Provide emergency care as needed during the school day
Administer and document prescribed medications per school protocols
Accurately document all student visits and healthrelated incidents
Monitor and support students with chronic health conditions (e.g. asthma diabetes seizure disorders)
Communicate with staff parents and emergency personnel as needed
Maintain a clean organized and fully stocked health clinic
Promote a positive professional and nurturing healthy environment
Uphold TMSAs mission policies and values in all interactions
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and administering medications
High level of initiative and problemsolving skills
