Job Description

  • Responsible for the design development maintenance and continuous improvement of electrical controls for plants manufacturing equipment &/or gauges/testing for new and existing products and processes
  • Troubleshooting process parameters and implementing corrective actions
  • Lead regulatory compliance for electrical wiring
  • Support process engineers with design of electrical controls for all dept in the plant
  • Support creation of automated data collection system for critical plant operations
  • Identify improvement opportunities and lead implementation
  • Support project implementation for new products or processes in facility
  • Provide electrical training for engineering and maintenance team
  • Lead all development maintenance and continuous improvements of plant high voltage power supply system
  • Generate accurate process instructions method sheets equipment setup and operating instructions.
  • Control all equipment electrical drawings and programs
  • Develop and implement training for maintenance and engineering on electrical and controls standards
  • Initiate appropriation requests for major projects
  • Compile prepare and present data for project updates and technical presentations to staff and/or management
  • Support new product manufacturing start ups
  • Coordinate with IT department to setup and maintain PLC network communications
  • Configure/Manage equipment for automatic daily machine production reporting emails
  • Configure/Manage data collection system and upgrade the system hardware and software as needed
  • Maintain plant electrical distribution single line drawings and update as new equipment is added  
  • Perform Arc Flash analysis and label all equipment on 3 year intervals as required
  • Coordinate required testing on plant switchgear every 5 years
  • Design and build control systems for in house developed equipment
  • Upgrade older control systems as needed
  • Support machine robotic systems integrations with PLCs. Work with process engineers to troubleshoot problems
  • Design maintain and improve machine safety systems.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 5 year experience in PLC & PC based controls for industrial manufacturing equipment and processes (Preferred Allen Bradley LabView Visual Basic)
  • Degree in Engineering preferred
  • Working Knowledge of high voltage power system grid and capable of providing maintenance requirements expansion requirements and upgrade of these systems including: High voltage Transformers SubStations and high voltage busways
  • Working Knowledge of all electrical wiring standards for industrial equipment and power system including safety wiring standards
  • Proficient at development design and implementation of automatic data collection and storage systems from PLC and PC based equipment and processes
  • Knowledge of vision system
  • Knowledge of Robotic programming
  • Proficient at creating Electrical drawings
  • Working knowledge of design of experiments Quality (definition customer requirements) preventive maintenance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to deal with all levels of staff customers suppliers and operations
  • Proficient with software programs such as Microsoft Office CAD (AudoCad ProE) visual basic Access Data bases
  • Ability to train technical and non technical work force on electrical and control standards
  • Demonstrated success handling multiple priorities in changing environments
  • Demonstrated ability to trouble and successfully resolve problems
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and change management preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $70000 USD $110000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to education training experience professional achievement business need and location. In addition to base salary employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a rolebased sales incentive plan.
