Burner Specialist
INTRODUCTION:
An exciting opportunity has become available within the energy industry for a Buner Specialist. The position is based in Alberton Johannesburg
Reports To
Burner Projects and Services Manager.
Job Overview
The Burner Field Service Technician will report to and support the Burner Projects and Services Manager by providing technical support maintenance and commissioning services for burner and hotwater boiler equipment.
This role involves tasks such as evaluating client requirements and collaborating with internal teams to enable the generation of specific and successful quotations designing and building burner and control systems and the installation repairs troubleshooting commissioning service and support of burners hot water boilers and Autoflame equipment. The technician will play a crucial role in complying with safety regulations and will be contributing to the application and improvement of the company ISO 9001 quality management system.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Troubleshoot oil burner gas burner and coal boiler control systems.
- Install repair and maintain oil burners gas burners hot water boilers and related equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and necessary cleaning of burner and electrical components.
- Hot water boiler assembly installation and commissioning.
- Combustion control system wiring and quality inspections.
- Make necessary adjustments to combustion for optimal performance.
- Assist with technical issues on various products during installations and projects.
- Collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical engineers to ensure project compliance.
- Communicate effectively with team members colleagues and clients.
- Visit sites attend site meetings and liaise with customers and suppliers.
- Adhere to engineering field codes and safety regulations.
- Coordinate SHE files and Health and Safety matters with the Safety Officer.
- Contribute to ISO 9001 process compliance and improvement.
- Maintains the clean and orderly condition of all work areas and equipment.
- Stay updated on industry rules and regulations for burners and boilers.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the boiler industry.
- Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
- Strong work ethic ambition and drive for professional growth.
- Strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- N6 Electrical Engineering N6 Mechanical Engineering.
- Electrician Trade Test.
- SAQCC Gas Authorized Practitioner (advantageous).
- Installation Electrician Wiremans Licence (advantageous).
