Payroll Officer (temporary)

What we are looking for:
Due to internal movements were looking for an experienced payroller to join our team on a temporary basis through to mid January 2026. Youll play a crucial role as part of our hard working team providing a confidential and efficient payroll function to council and our employees.
What your day will look like:
- Maintaining confidential personnel and payroll records throughout the employee lifecycle
- Completing payroll activities including data entry adjustments and reviews
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation including superannuation and taxation
- Reviewing and updating payroll related policies and procedures
- Providing advice to employees as needed and liaising with external agencies
- Assisting with payroll reporting as required

What youll need for success:
- Demonstrated experience in a payroll position ideally within a high volume environment
- Solid understanding of payroll related legislation and industrial awards
- Strong customer service and relationship building skills
- A high level of accuracy when performing data entry duties
- The ability to pick up new systems with ease
