Thermacell Repellents Inc. is a privately held company with a mission to liberate people who love the outdoors from the harmful effects of insects. Founded in 1999 and based outside of Boston in Bedford Massachusetts Thermacell makes the worlds leading zone mosquito repellent protecting people and pets up to 20ft in outdoor spaces without sprays scents or chemicals on your skin.

Thermacell currently employs 125 full time employees at our 4 locations: Bedford Massachusetts (Corporate HQ) Buford Georgia (Manufacturing & Distribution) and Hampton Florida (Science & Research Center).
TRI is seeking a Chemistry Technician to support formula development and analytical and quality testing. This position will report directly to Rebecca Heinig Science Manager and serve as a part of the Science and Research Team in Hampton FL.
STATUS: Exempt
WORKING HOURS: Typically between 85pm MF (open to some flexibility)

Support all technical aspects of Thermacells chemistry program.
Assist in the development of new formulas that meet performance targets and create new product concepts using innovative formulation ideas.
Conduct Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and nonGLP laboratory studies to accurately document the quality safety and characterization of chemical compounds and formulations.
Accurately record data and draft various technical reports.
Collate archive and distribute data packages to support the global business.
Maintain an orderly and safe laboratory and workspace.
Ensure supply inventories are maintained to support planned activities.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to support planned activities.
Support the quality and the manufacturing team to conduct accurate and timely quality testing and raise potential issues in an expedient manner.
Ensure compliance with laboratory and facility safety programs.
Assist in other duties as assigned to support the laboratory and global business.

COMPENSATION
Compensation for this position will include a competitive base salary and an Annual Target Bonus programdetails proved separately. Compensation will also include participation in the Companys Long Term Incentive Plan. Benefits for this position will consist of vacation benefits at a competitive level along with 9 paid holidays 2 Floating Holidays and a day off for your Birthday! Additionally a company shutdown period is offered for one week between Christmas and New Years Day.

You may start contributing to our 401k after completing 30 days of service (enrolling on the first of the following month). You will be eligible for the employer match up to 4 (base salary overtime wages subject to the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) legal limit) after completing one year of service.

Bachelors degree in chemistry or analytical chemistry
2 years of successful professional formulation and/or analytical chemistry experience with experience in pesticide/bioactive products preferred.
Proven ability to follow laboratory procedures and protocols; GLP experience is preferred.
Direct expertise in the use of a range of analytical chemistry instrumentation specifically 2 years of experience with GCMS GCFID SPLC and HPLC experience
Familiarity with quality assurance techniques.
Proven ability to plan organize problem solve and coordinate multiple tasks.
Proven ability to document accurate data in official laboratory records and report findings in technical publications.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time 4 or more hours) and conduct repetitive laboratory tasks.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365 and other software.
