Job Description

Purpose:
The Account Manager in a food manufacturing setting is responsible for managing client relationships driving sales growth and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their needs collaborating with internal teams to deliver solutions and managing key accounts to meet business objectives. A deep understanding of the food manufacturing industry including supply chain processes product specifications and food safety regulations is critical.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Food Science or a related field.
  • Experience: 35 years of experience in account management sales or customer relations preferably in the food manufacturing industry and CPG.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing key accounts.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customercentric mindset.
  • Proficient in Hubspot and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to understand technical product specifications and food safety regulations.
  • High skilled in organization and prioritization problemsolving and negotiation skills to resolve client issues and secure contracts.
  • Ability to drive proactive outreachmanage leads and push deals forward.
  • Strong initiative for hitting targets and following through on commitments.
  • Consistency in following order management reporting and forecasting workflows.
  • Manage expectations resolving issues and driving urgency.
  • Handle customer objections and securing business in challenging situations.
  • Understand manufacturing constraints pricingand competitive positioning.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to travel to client sites and food manufacturing plants as needed.
  • Fastpaced dynamic environment where collaboration with crossfunctional teams is essential.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Detailoriented with a strong focus on revenue growth and innovation.

Additional Requirements

  • Will require occasional travel to other locations and customer visits as well asfield events.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Account Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts ensuring prompt and effective communication.
  • Build and maintain strong longlasting client relationships to understand their needs and expectations.
  • Conduct regular client meetings both onsite and virtual to assess satisfaction and uncover new business opportunities.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and business goals.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for upselling and crossselling food products and services.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to clients addressing their specific needs and showcasing the companys offerings.

Order Management and Fulfillment:

  • Collaborate with production supply chain and quality assurance teams to ensure timely and accurate order processing.
  • Monitor order status track shipments and address any issues related to delivery product quality or customer satisfaction.

Market and Product Knowledge:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the companys product lines manufacturing processes and industry trends.
  • Stay informed about food safety regulations certifications (e.g. BRC SQF) and sustainability practices relevant to the food manufacturing industry.

Reporting and Data Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on account performance sales forecasts and customer feedback.
  • Use datadriven insights to adjust strategies improve customer retention and optimize sales efforts.
