Job Description

POSITION TITLE:High School Receptionist

FLSA:NonExempt

REPORTS TO: J.J. Smith

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma.
  • Good grammar & English speaking skills.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Google Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. to shoulder height occasionally.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Grant access to students parents and visitors.
  2. Sign for packages and shipments.
  3. Answer telephone system.
  4. Assist in tracking attendance.
  5. Place calls in voice mail & locate staff as appropriate.
  6. Assist parents students or any other visitors who come to the front office.
  7. Communication center for any major emergencies or disasters.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Work with the phone service system.
  2. Assist with office mailings.
  3. Assist with new student data entry as requested.
  4. Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
  5. Adheres to good safety practices.
  6. Adheres to all district rules regulations and policies.
  7. Attends site and district meetings.

Regular Requirements:

Stand for extended periods; walk; twist at theneck and trunk; bend and reach with hands and arms overheadabove the shoulder and horizontally; repetitive use of fingers and handsto grasp and/or operate equipment and demonstrate lessons tostudents; lift/move up to 15 pounds

Occasional Requirements: Lift/move up to 25 poundsability to administer CPR

Visual Requirements: Close color peripheral depth perception ability to adjust focus

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information
