Job Description

Overview:


Fulltime 40 hours/week. No Holidays. No weekends. No night shift. No oncall. Rotating 8hour shifts 73:30 84:30 or 8:305. Travel to local offsite locations required.

Valid Ohio drivers license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection insurance eligibility driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.


Job Description Summary:


Assists the Orthopedic Physicians in the examination treatment and followup care of patients with orthopedic conditions.


Job Description:


Essential Functions:

  • Prepares patients for orthopedic procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort during the procedure.
  • Applies and removes casts splints and braces as directed by the physician.
  • Assists physicians in the reduction of fractures and dislocations.
  • Orders and maintains inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment.
  • Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments to ensure patient safety.
  • Maintains accurate patient records and ensures that they are uptodate.


Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.


Licensure Requirement:

Certifications:

Certification from a Medical Assisting Program STNA or equivalent preferred.


Skills:

Excellent customer service interpersonal andcommunication skills.


Experience:

  • One year previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • Experience as Orthopedic Cast Tech Suture Tech or EMT preferred.
