This position is at Fort Connect. Fort Connect is an application based program for high school students who would benefit from a nontraditional approach to learning with a more handson smaller group approach. Teachers of any secondary certification area use a design thinking/innovation model of instruction combined with realworld projectbased experiences to allow students to earn credits while also completing client based projects.
This program includes students in grades912 using an alternative program model focused around clientbased/real world learning experiences. Any secondary 9th 12th grade) active Missouri certification is accepted.
Salary is based on the adopted salary schedule for the 2425 school year at this time (starting salary $44200. We accept all previous years in certificated teaching roles as steps on the salary schedule. The Fort Osage School District prioritizes a highly competitive salary schedule with additional benefits including optional fully paid health insurance career ladder stipends (up to $5000 extra duty stipend opportunities and more. New teachers mentor program available for all first and second year teachers.

Purpose Statement
This teacher works closely with students who require nontraditional approaches to learningprovidesindividualized instruction and supports to help them succeed academically socially and teacherfacilitates realworld learning experiences that connect classroom learning to practical handson experiences in the community through client centered teacher of alternative programmingcollaborates with community partners to develop internship opportunities servicelearning projects and other experiential learning opportunitiestoprepare students for success beyond high school. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in alternative education secondary education and a passion for helping students discover their potential and achieve their goals. This candidate should possess excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills the ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
This job reports to the Principal of Alternative Programming.

Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; directing
other persons within a small work unit; monitoring budget expenditures. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the jobs functions. There is some opportunity to effect the organizations services.
Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: occasional
lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling significant stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling and significant fine
finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20 sitting 40 walking and 40 standing. The job is performed in a
generally hazard free environment and in a clean atmosphere.
