Are you a skilled plumber ready to put your expertise to work in service of something bigger Join the Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS) the engine behind Oregon state government and help keep critical buildings operating smoothly and safely for the people who serve Oregon every day.
DAS supports agencies across the state with essential business servicesfrom tech and HR to facilities and finance. As our Plumber youll provide vital maintenance and repair for all stateowned and leased buildings in the Portland area ensuring safe and efficient environments for both employees and the public.
A Day in the Life:
Install repair and maintain plumbing systems valves pumps fire systems and fixtures.
Test and repair backflow prevention devices on potable water irrigation fire and HVAC systems.
Manage smallscale contractor projects related to plumbing and building systems.
Review blueprints estimate job materials and time and advise on plumbing design and code compliance.
Perform preventive maintenance and keep plumbing systems in top shape.
Maintain inventory and support building supply logistics.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
A valid Oregon Plumbers License. Be sure a copy of your license is attached to your application form.
Special Qualifications:
You are required to possess and maintain a valid drivers license issued by the state where you reside.
Desired Attributes:
Solid experience with plumbing installation repair and maintenance
Knowledge of plumbing codes and safety standards
Skills in soldering brazing threading and pipefitting
Experience with preventative maintenance on plumbing systems
Exceptional analytical problem solving customer service and troubleshooting skills.
The ability to complete tasks and projects with a high attention to detail and safety.
The ability to work independently without constant supervision as well as collaboratively as a team member.
Proficient in basic computer operations with ability to navigate various software programs (e.g. Computer Integrated Facilities Management Software (IWMS) Workday Microsoft Office and maintenance/time tracking software); Capable of using computer to receive and manage work tasks communication time logs notes locations and task status daily.
Ability to read blueprints.
Experience with Victaulic piping high and lowpressure boilers steam lines and chilled water lines.
Possess backflow prevention device tester Certification from DHR Health Division and indepth knowledge of Oregon Uniform Mechanical Code.
