Job Title: Emergency Veterinary Receptionist
Location: EmergiPet
Position Type: FullTime / PartTime
Job Description:
EmergiPet is looking for a compassionate organized and detailoriented Emergency Veterinary Receptionist to join our dedicated team. As the first point of contact for pet owners in need of urgent medical attention youll play a critical role in ensuring our patients receive timely and compassionate care. This position requires someone who can handle highstress situations with empathy communicate effectively and maintain a calm and welcoming environment in a fastpaced emergency setting.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist clients ensuring a warm welcoming and professional atmosphere.
- Answer incoming phone calls and emails providing accurate information and handling appointment scheduling for emergency cases.
- Manage emergency situations with calmness and efficiency coordinating with the veterinary team to prioritize patient care.
- Collect and process client and pet information including medical histories and payment details.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate records in our veterinary software system.
- Ensure the reception area is clean organized and wellstocked.
- Handle client inquiries regarding emergency care protocols treatment plans and billing.
- Process payments including insurance claims as required.
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the veterinary team.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or veterinary certification is a plus.
- Prior experience in a customer service or receptionist role ideally in a veterinary or medical setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact compassionately with anxious pet owners.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced highpressure environment especially during emergencies.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and basic medical procedures is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in computer software and data entry.
- Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays as emergency care requires availability at all times.
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
