Location: Durrington West Sussex 23 days a week)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Job Overview

The Principal Water Resources Advisor will be part of the Water Resources Policy & Regulation Team; responsible for assuring compliance with the Regulatory Conditions within our portfolio of Abstraction Licences and ensuring the Business is prepared for Drought events. Reporting to and influencing stakeholders and Regulators.

  • Review and evaluate all aspects of WR Licences and Drought Permits & Orders to meet the requirements of the regulators.
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of abstraction licence and drought permit / order applications.
  • Review and maintain policy and procedure manuals relating to abstraction activities
  • Influence operational capital programmes to deliver improved compliance resilience
  • Support other team members and wider business

About You

  • Preferred experience in water resources / water industry
  • Preferred experience in a regulated company / regulating organisation
  • Preferred skills / demonstrable understanding of surface water / groundwater models
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills; internal and external
  • Experience of negotiating with and influencing
  • Excellent report writing skills
