Job Description

Position Title:

Assistant Womens Soccer Coach

Job Description:

The Iowa State University Athletics Department is accepting applications for an Assistant Womens Soccer Coach. This position will work under the direction of the Head Coach to assist in the daily operations and administrative functions for the Division I program with a commitment to adhering to university Big 12 Conference and NCAA policies.

  • Effectively teach coach and mentor to develop successful and wellrounded studentathletes.
  • Identify and successfully recruit and retain academically qualified and athletically talented studentathletes.
  • Help with pregame and competitionday operations.
  • Assist with coordination of facility needs practice calendars competition schedules and administrative projects.
  • Help ensure academic progress and graduation of studentathletes.
  • Contribute to and enhance a competitive athletic experience.
  • Establish and maintain an environment conducive to the welfare and academic success of the studentathletes.
  • Establish and maintain effective interactions with the students colleagues university community alumni media and the public.
  • All other duties for the benefit of the soccer program as assigned by the Head Coach

This position requires strong knowledge of soccer an excellent work ethic along with exceptional motivational teaching/coaching and communication skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Requires the ability to travel extensively including overnight stays for recruiting and competitions.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree.

Experience coaching or competing in soccer at a highly competitive level (post high school).

Preferred Qualifications:

NCAA or professional soccer coaching experience with a highly competitive and successful program.

NCAA D1 or professional soccer experience as an athlete.

Demonstrated ability to recruit highly skilled female studentathletes and strong recruiting connections.
