Job Description

Role Summary:
This position involves aroundtheclock oversight and support for maintenance tasks tied to a major electric transmission link with activity based out of sites in both southern Connecticut and eastern Long Island. The technician reports directly to site leadership including both the local operations manager and senior operations director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work rotating 12hour shiftsday and nightincluding weekends and holidays. Emergency coverage may require being onsite at one of the two primary facilities.
  • Be available for backup coverage when not on shift stepping in as needed for unexpected absences.
  • Monitor the performance and readiness of the highvoltage power transmission system handle system control inputs remotely respond to system alerts manage call communications and deploy maintenance staff as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with regional grid operators and internal company contacts.
  • Keep thorough operational documentation including logs incident reports fault tracking and summaries of unusual activity.
  • Support diagnostics and repairs during planned downtime or unexpected equipment issues.
  • Offer technical assistance for system upgrades or engineering reviews which may involve researching equipment specs or sourcing components.

Additional Expectations:

  • Approach responsibilities with an understanding of their impact on the broader system and business performance.
  • Take on other assignments as directed by company leadership.

Preferred Background & Skills:

  • Degree (Associates or Bachelors) in electrical systems engineering technologies or a comparable field.
  • Handson mindset with a collaborative solutiondriven attitude.

  • Able to independently seek out knowledge and solve problems.

  • Strong time management and task juggling abilities.

  • Effective communicator with solid math proficiency.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with system control platforms or engineering tools is a plus.
  • Comfortable working nights weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Prioritizes workplace safety and familiar with applicable safety and electrical standards.
  • Some exposure to electric utility operations and transmission infrastructure.
  • Awareness of relevant industry rules and governmental regulations.

  • Willing to complete formal training and obtain necessary operational certifications maintaining them as required.
  • Must be a U.S. permanent resident or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.

Travel Notes:
A valid drivers license is required. Must be flexible with hours and prepared for occasional shortnotice travel to assigned locations including outside normal work hours.
