About the School
Gulf English School (GES) established in 1980 is a multinational coeducational English medium school located in the vibrant commercial district of Salmiya in Kuwait City. Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Business and Economics Teacher to deliver highquality teaching at both IGCSE and A Level. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the subjects and a proven track record of student achievement within the British curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Business Studies and Economics across IGCSE and A Level courses.
- Design and deliver lessons that engage challenge and support students of varying abilities.
- Prepare students effectively for external examinations using appropriate assessment strategies.
- Monitor assess and report on student progress maintaining clear and accurate records.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development.
- Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love of learning and encourages independent thinking.
- Maintain excellent communication with students parents and colleagues.
- Participate in school events extracurricular activities and enrichment programmes.
- Uphold the schools policies and values including those related to safeguarding inclusion and professional conduct.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Business Economics or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE . or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience in a British curriculum school.
- Strong knowledge of the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Business and Economics syllabi.
- Excellent classroom management and subject delivery skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and support a range of learners.
- Culturally sensitive and eager to contribute to a diverse school community.
- Committed to ongoing professional development and reflective teaching practice.
Salary & Benefits
- Monthly Salary: TAX FREE salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
- Accommodation:
- Free fully furnished single accommodation with utilities included.
- Or Housing Allowance of KWD 150/month.
- Teachers with families may access a 2bedroom apartment for KWD 90/month.
- Facilities include gym and swimming pool.
- Transportation:
- Free twoway school transport for the first 3 months.
- Continued service available for KWD 20/month thereafter.
- Airfare:
- Initial joining ticket from home country.
- Annual summer return ticket and return ticket at the end of contract.
- Medical Insurance:
- Government health insurance for first two years.
- Private health insurance from year three.
- School Fee Discounts:
- 100 discount on tuition fees for up to two children (subject to management approval).
- Visa Reimbursement:
- Up to KWD 100 for visa expenses in home country (upon submission of receipts).
Working Conditions
- Contract Length: Two years renewable by mutual agreement.
- Working Days: Approximately 177 teaching days per year.
- Working Hours: 07:10 AM to 02:40 PM Sunday to Thursday.
Fridays and Saturdays are weekends.
