Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to the maintenance update and improvement of the code of the ENVLinkages model and related quantitative frameworks operated by the modelling team;
- Run simulations with ENVLinkages help in the validation of model outputs prepare clear graphs and tables to present model outputs to be used in OECD reports and presentations;
- Prepare computer codes to facilitate the interactions between the teams modelling tools and external information sources such as the preparation and (dis)aggregation of input data sources and the processing of model outputs to feed into other models;
- Contribute to the documentation of the databases and of the model code and perform other assignments and programming tasks as required;
- Contribute to the setup of data visualisation page that provides users with an interactive interface for the teams modelling results;
- Contribute to the drafting of highquality technical research documents project reports and policy briefs/articles targeted at nontechnical audiences and the media.
- Liaise with relevant staff in other Divisions and Directorates or with other organisations on the use of inhouse databases and contribute to data requests on ongoing projects.
Qualifications :
Ideal Candidate Profile
Academic background
- An advanced postgraduate university degree in economics econometrics operations research mathematics or another relevant discipline (Ph.D. preferred)
Professional Background
- At least three years of experience in programming and handling large datasets demonstrated ability in optimization or CGE modelling preferred
- Strong quantitative background and experience in modelling
- Experience presenting and explaining analytical results to a variety of audiences in a compelling way.
Tools
- Proficiency in using the General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) and advanced knowledge of widelyused software packages and programming (R or Python) broader programming skills preferred
- Proven ability to carry out quantitative analysis.
