Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Engineer II to be based out of Salt Lake City Utah office.

The successful candidate will have a background in environmental engineering and a successful work history of environmental investigations. A background in remediation is preferred.

Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Support AECOM projects in the areas of contaminated sediments soil and groundwater remediation environmental compliance and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG)/Sustainability initiative.
  • Work with senior level staff to provide technical analysis and deliverables for current and prospective clients for remedial investigations feasibility studies remedial design remedial action fate and transport modeling innovative sampling approaches etc.
  • Planning and directing field activities for data collection and data management.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts suppliers contractors engineering consultants academia and external agencies.
  • Engage in internal Technical Practice Groups coordinate with companys regional and national experts and professional development.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Civil Environmental Engineering or related field AND a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • US Citizen/US Permanent Resident.
  • Valid Drivers license.
  • Willingness to travel complete field work and work extended hours when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to acquire professional registration.
  • 40hour OSHA HAZWOPER and current 8hour annual refresher certification.
  • Ability to assist with the preparation of cost estimates for various remediation plans and remediation activities.
  • Experience with response and environmental investigations and through site cleanup and closure.
  • Experience with developing conceptual site models and preparing remediation strategies.
  • Experience with remedial technology selection remedial design and remediation construction.
  • Experience completing contaminant fate and transport evaluation and mass flux estimates.
  • Experience preparing 3D hydrogeological conceptual models.
  • Experience preparing plans and specifications used for project bidding and construction.
  • Experience developing and preparing reports for submittal and acceptance for technical clients and regulators.
  • Ability to develop design specifications.
  • Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
  • Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects.
  • Positive attitude willingness to mentor junior staff and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
  • Field work may be required including oversight of subcontractors.
  • CAD experience a plus.
  • Candidate must be proficient with basic computer programs; Microsoft Suite Programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
