Job Description
We are looking for a Safety Coordinator to minimize safety risks. The selected candidate will conduct safety observation reports on a regular basis attend safety walks and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks and educate employees on safety standards and expectations including safe machinery operation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities by notifying project managers/supervisors.
- Participate in developing and conducting staff safety orientation training programs.
- Conduct work area surveillance inspections damage assessments and personal injury investigations.
- Document all accidents safety violations and unsafe conditions/activities ensuring management is informed of violations.
- Compile data photographs and reports related to accidents/incidents for submission to Human Resources.
- Conduct new employee safety orientations and maintain training records.
- Lead safety meetings track minutes and monitor attendance.
- Develop and facilitate safety training meetings.
- Track certifications and schedule employees for required training.
- Coordinate with Human Resources on injured employees ensuring compliance with doctors restrictions.
Requirements:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to give presentations and training in both languages.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook) required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively with employees and management.
- Must be able to work overtime including weekends if necessary.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required; a safetyrelated degree is preferred.
- Additional education in Safety/OSHA is a plus.
- Minimum of 34 years of construction safety experience.
Location: Santa Teresa
Schedule: Monday Friday 8 AM 5 PM with the ability to work overtime as needed.
Pay:$22/hour
