Duties and Responsibilities (Pay Band A):
1. * Serves as the functional analyst for the Universitys Financial System with a broad range of responsibilities to appropriately support the systemwide application
2. * Conducts initial testing and coordinates complete and final testing with responsible central offices.
3. * Performs assignments of average difficulty and complexity in the specialty area involving application of standard policies and regulations and widely accepted methods and practices.
4. * Performs analysis recommends solutions coordinates with users and responsible central offices for resolution of problems.
5. * Recommends changes to work flow and internal processing in the responsible central office as it relates to utilization of the financial system.
6. Ensures that the processes and procedures are consistent with applicable Federal and State laws rules regulations University policies and procedures accounting principles internal controls and appropriate business practices.
7. Develops work plans and timetables for project management.
8. Develops KFS procedures and detailed KFS User Guides to document system features.
user documentation frequently asked questions (FAQs) and/or training material and assists with training either onsite or centrally.
10. Provides user support on KFS related questions.
11. Assists with special studies and analyses in various areas of fiscal services and financial management.
12. Analyzes Kuali Financials releases for applicability impact and implementation at UH.
13. Assists with developing reports and/or queries using business intelligence or reporting software such as Jasper Reports iDashboards etc.
14. Organizes and coordinates required activities with applicable systemwide Directors of Financial Management operations responsible for KFS component.
15. Communicates with a wide range of systemwide personnel (e.g. Directors Fiscal Authorities fiscal staff central staff) to document issues and concerns.
16. Other Duties As Assigned

1. * Plans organizes directs controls & coordinates the development implementation & maintenance of components of the Kuali Financial System (KFS) the official systemwide financial system of the University of Hawaii.
2. * Serves as the functional lead on projects with a broad range of responsibilities to appropriately develop the systemwide application (e.g. Financial Processing Purchasing Labor Ledger etc).
3. * Conducts initial testing and coordinates complete and final testing with responsible central offices.
4. * Independently performs moderately complex assignments of limited scope in the specialty area involving application of standard policies and regulations and widely accepted methods and practices.
5. * Communicates with Directors to keep abreast of developments recommends alternatives implements decisions.
6. * Performs analysis recommends solutions and project direction coordinates with users and responsible central offices for resolution of problems and determination of project direction.
7. * Recommends changes to work flow and internal processing in the responsible central office as it relates to utilization of the financial system.
8. Ensures that the processes and procedures are consistent with applicable Federal and State laws rules regulations University policies and procedures accounting principles internal controls and appropriate business practices.

Minimum Qualifications (Pay Band A):
1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in accounting business administration management information systems public administration or related field and 1 year of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for accounting/fiscal operations; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
2. Functional knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area of accounting and/or financial systems demonstrated by knowledge understanding and ability to apply concepts terminology.
3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles theories federal and state laws rules regulations and systems associated with governmental or financial accounting.
4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of accounting and/or financial systems.
5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation write reports and procedures and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team members and individuals.
7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.

Minimum Qualifications (Pay Band B):
1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in accounting business administration management information systems public administration or related field and 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for accounting/fiscal operations; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
2. Considerable working knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area of accounting and/or financial systems as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts principles and methodologies.
3. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws rules regulations and theories and systems associated with governmental or financial accounting.
4. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective innovative and timely manner.
5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team leaders and members and individuals.
7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
8. If applicable for supervisory work demonstrated ability to lead subordinates manage work priorities and projects and manage employee relations.
9. Demonstrated ability to develop training materials and conduct training to programs and other related staff.

Desirable Qualifications (Pay Band A):
knowledge and experience using collaboration and issue/bug tracking tools such as Atlassians Confluence and JIRA.
