Job Description
We are seeking for two part time Kitchen Hands to join our team within the Ibis Wellington. Reporting to the Head Chef you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Kitchen department.
This role is parttime covering the morning shift starting between 7am or 8am to Midday or evening shifts from 6pm until 10pm or 11pm (depending on hotel demand) with a wage of $25.42 per hour.
Duties;
- Wash and sanitise dishes utensils glassware pots pans and kitchen equipment using industrial dishwashing machines or handwashing when necessary.
- Clean and maintain dishwashing machines and report any malfunctions or issues to management.
- Operate dish washing machine as per instruction manual
- Properly dispose of waste garbage and recycling materials.
- Action cleaning duties within the kitchen food preparation areas and scullery
- Ensure all kitchens are kept clean and tidy according to current Health & Hygiene regulations.
- Ensure correct handling of chemicals and equipment as per manufacturers instructions.
- Promote a safe workplace by recognising hazards and promoting general WHS practices
- Occasionally help kitchen staff with basic food prep tasks (e.g. chopping vegetables filling water containers) if required.
- Rotational roster
Qualifications :
- Ability to work a flexible roster including mornings evenings weekends and public holidays
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Motivated and driven.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Hand is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to work well in a fastpaced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to follow instructions and learn new tasks.
- Must be a New Zealand citizen permanent resident or hold a valid work visa/permit.(immigration visa support or sponsorship is not available with this role)
