DescriptionNetwork Engineer duties and responsibilities of the job
Network Engineers will work inhouse supporting internal customers as per the organization needs and requirement supporting external customer. Working hours will be in US EST / PST time zone As part of an organizations IT team Network Engineers work closely with Network Architects and IT Managers. A Network Engineer job description can therefore comprise of:
- Installing configuring and supporting network equipment including routers web proxy servers switches WAN accelerators DNS and DHCP Firewalls and SDWAN
- Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
- Configuring firewalls routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Arranging scheduled upgrades
- Investigating faults in the network
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders
- Monitoring the health and capacity of the Network equipment and updating the tracker
- Conducting the BCP activity and updating the documents.
- Managing the daily weekly and monthly checklist.
- Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
