Job Description
Ravenscroft is an independent coeducational day school in Raleigh NC with approximately 1250 students in grades PreK12.
We are looking to welcome an Extended Day Assistant Teacher into our community of educators that actively strive to be diverse equitable and inclusive. Our candidates should demonstrate empathy knowledge and an understanding for the diverse backgrounds in our community; place an importance on genuine and authentic connections with students faculty staff and parents; be able to work collaboratively with team members of diverse backgrounds; and have the capacity to model an attitude of unyielding curiosity and a growth mindset.
Reports to: Extended Day Director and CoDirector
As the PreK and Kindergarten Extended Day Assistant Teacher at Ravenscroft here is what you get to do:
- Assist during ageappropriate activities for children within Program structure
- Stay alert to any safety concerns in regards to the student during play homework etc.
- Communicate with parents on the students progress
- Maintain clean and nurturing environment
- Contribute to general planning for the Program
- Coordinate activities and field trips for students
- Monitor facilities for safety issues and report them to the Coordinator
We are looking for someone who:
- Has great communication skills: tact in dealing with parents colleagues and children in school setting
- Has experience working with youth and demonstrates a desire to do so
- Flexibility in work schedule to help with Early Release Days and Teacher workdays and other additional hours as required by the School
- Has a background and/or Degree in Education or related fields preferred
- Is dependable possesses a good work ethic and is able and willing to work with other staff in a cooperative manner
