POSITION DESCRIPTION: Led by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) Controller the Financial Reporting and Compliance Unit (FRC) within the Accounting Section of the Finance and Information Technology Division is comprised of several teams that provide financial reporting and audit coordination. The Capital Projects and Grants Accounting teams within the FRC Unit monitors and handles critical grants accounting support for the Transit and Sustainable Streets Division projects. This group is responsible for handling capital project budget revisions budget realignments and coordinating with an outside consultant the completion and submission for approval from Federal Transit Administration (FTA) of the annual SFMTA Indirect Cost Recovery Plan (ICRP) Allocation. These groups work closely with various internal teams such as project managers finance and operations and external advisors to execute all accounting related initiatives to ensure transaction and reporting compliance and help build a robust internal control environment required for each project within these divisions.
Under general direction the Financial Reporting under FRC Unit is responsible for preparing financial analysis and reconciliations; monitoring and reconciling revenues expenditures and general ledger accounts; developing periodic systematic management reports operating procedures and policy recommendations managing internal and external audits; researching and responding to informational requests.

Qualifications :
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university preferably with major course work in accounting finance business administration or related field. Such education must include eighteen 18 semester units or twentyfour 24 quarter units of coursework in accounting. AND
Four 4 years of professional accounting which includes analysis or problem solving. Experience must include working with an automated financial system (preferably a government system) performing difficult and responsible accounting as well as preparing financial records and reports. OR
2. City and County of San Francisco Employees with four 4 years of professional accounting experience including experience as a 1652 Accountant II.
Substitution: A masters degree in accounting business administration computer information systems public policy or a closely related field may be substituted for one year of work experience.
