Job Description
The Sterile Processing Tech cleans decontaminates and sterilizes all instrumentation and associated equipment for the OR and other hospital departments. Responsible for accurately completing all records pertinent to sterilization process. Works with repair vendor to maintain integrity of instrumentation. Monitors all autoclaves and arranges for maintenance of same.
Work Schedule: 1.0 FTE; D/E Monday thru Friday; variable call on weekend
Required Qualifications:
- Must have one of the following:
- Current CSPDT from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution or obtained within one year from hire date
- Current CRCST from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association or obtained within one year from hire date
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework in Sterile Processing or equivalent Sterile Processing Technician experience
- Certification in sterilization
- Previous knowledge and experience with sterilization in hospital or ambulatory surgical center.
