Looking for a change of scenery and the chance to build something that truly matters Coders Connect is working with an ambitious wellfunded highgrowth startup operating at the bleeding edge of AI and they re on the lookout for a VP of Data Engineering to join their missioncritical team.
This role is technically handson and highimpact. You ll be leading the data engineering function designing elegant architecture mentoring a team of brilliant minds (think: PhDs senior scientists) and helping shape a platform that supports realworld AI systems particularly in the LLM space.
We like to keep things lean and collaborative. That means your voice will be heard your ideas tested and your code will probably end up in production by week two.
What You ll Be Doing:
- Lead and scale a tightknit team of engineers and scientists.
- Build and maintain robust scalable data pipelines (Azure Databricks Spark you know the drill).
- Bring best practices to CI/CD observability data monitoring and reproducibility.
- Drive technical decisionmaking and architectural evolution.
- Collaborate crossfunctionally with AI product and software folks to align tech with business goals.
Requirements
Technical Skills:
- Have a PhD or strong academic background and
- 5 years of building realworld systems around LLMs.
- Are fluent in Python and Spark with bonus points for Azure Databricks Neo4j or LangChain experience.
- Know how to manage and mentor a team (especially one made up of senior highperforming profiles).
- Are obsessed with data quality system reliability and continuous improvement.

PhD in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or similar discipline preferred. Minimum of 5+ years working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and building real-world systems. Strong hands-on experience with: Python, Spark, SQL Databricks, Azure Cloud Neo4j, ElasticSearch CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks (DBT tests, Pytest, Great Expectations) Data observability, reproducibility, and performance tuning Bonus if familiar with LangChain, LAN Graph, or real-time streaming tech like Kafka.
