Description

Position: Program Associate

Hours of Employment: 9:00 AM 5:30 PM MondayThursday or 9:30 AM 6:00 PM MondayThursday 7:30 AM 4:00 PM Fridays (nonschool days) (Occasional weekday evenings and weekends will be required)

Work Location: InPerson

Salary Range: $20.00$24.00/hour based on experience and qualifications

Immediate Supervisor: Program Manager

Employment Type: Fulltime nonexempt

Position Overview: Responsible for fulfilling the community school model with a primary focus on the implementation of all studentbased programming. Work directly with youth to support their social emotional cognitive and academic development. Implement and strive for excellence of strong program facilitation while also helping students develop their personalities and life skills.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement inschool and afterschool programs projects and events
  • Tutor and/or mentor students
  • Facilitate enrichment activities using effective instructional techniques
  • Create and maintain safe respectful and encouraging learning environments
  • Ensure appropriate materials and supplies are available for all programs
  • Actively participate in daily team debriefs
  • Thoughtfully complete feedback and observation notes
  • Assist in collecting checking recording and analyzing related data as directed
  • Greet steward and purposefully deploy volunteers and partners
  • Engage professionally with teachers and families
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of company spaces and schoolbased learning environments
  • Work with senior leaders to coordinate and/or manage programs projects and events as directed
  • Provide administrative support for NCCP inschool and after school programs projects and events
  • Support all inschool after hours and extended day community school activities as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
  • Maintain a valid drivers license
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with diverse groups in a highenergy work environment
  • Moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary or mobile position as the shift demands

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Twoyear or fouryear college degree
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills
  • Previous experience working with children in an academicallyfocused environment
  • Previous experience in classroom management and demonstrated instructional expertise
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Work in collaboration with the broader organization to facilitate school community and volunteer programs and events (NOTE: Must be able to remain in a stationary or mobile position as the shift demands and move equipment/supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
