POSITION TITLE: Library Media Specialist PartTime 2 days/week.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Foster an atmosphere that encourages student and staff library media center usage.
Inform staff of new professional resources that enhance teaching and learning.
Collaborate with teachers to integrate information literacy into the curriculum.
Provide staff assistance in designing activities that help students learn to identify analyze and synthesize information by using a variety of materials & formats.
Participate in instructional planning by collaborating with classroom teachers to design implement & evaluate resourcebased teaching units.
Provide information literacy skills instruction.
Assist students and staff in the use and production of supplementary teaching/learning materials.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Promote the Districts adopted policies and regulations dealing with access confidentiality copyright and selection.
Formulate long and shortrange goals and propose implementation & evaluation.
Adhere to the district guidelines and procedures for cataloging and classifying all resources.
Coordinate resources and activities with networks and area libraries.
Attend faculty meetings and other appropriate staff and department meetings.
