Job Description |
What you will be doing: - Determine the cost of raw materials labor overhead and value of inventory.
- Contribute to acquisition integrations and other ad hoc projects as needed.
- Execute monthly close responsibilities by verifying the accuracy of journal entries and variance reporting.
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations timely and document supporting information for assigned scope areas.
- Review investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in inventory accounting transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment within the general ledger.
- Lead and execute variance capitalization analysis and reporting including material usage & purchase price variances direct and indirect labor and manufacturing overhead variances in collaboration with Financial Planning and Analysis for monthly variance reporting.
- Work with Financial Planning and Analysis to incorporate variance analysis annual plans and quarterly forecast changes into standard cost rolls per company process.
- Participate with crossfunctional teams to properly cost changes in existing BOMs prepare BOM cost estimates and create new items/BOMs.
- Support other manufacturing operating activities as needed (cycle counts physical inventory etc..
- Work with the company’s external auditors to provide requested information and explain the substance of the transactions for assigned scope areas.
- Identify areas in cost accounting for process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (close cycle time capitalization perpetual inventory standard cost rolls etc..
- Execute acquisition integration activities related to cost accounting (opening balance sheet inventory monthend close standard cost/ERP deployment etc..
- Support other enterprisewide accounting activities as needed.
- Some travel may be required.
Experience you will need: - Relevant experience in cost accounting or financial analysis.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting and general ledger processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
- Experience with auditing and compliance processes.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
