Paralegal Employment Single Action (FEHA)

The Opportunity

Paralegals in our Employment practice work closely with attorneys and partners in involving discrimination wrongful termination retaliation harassment etc. through the litigation process. We are looking for Paralegals with proven experience in employment (FEHA) law preparing plaintiff responses reviewing defendant responses filings and owning calendaring and scheduling deadlines. This role manages a high volume of cases and requires the ability to be resourceful and multitask with a high attention to detail.

Accountable for

  • Propound and respond to discovery.
  • Prepare substantive responses for Plaintiff and review Defendant s responses.
  • Prepare documents for filing with the state and federal court.
  • Draft correspondence and regularly communicate with clients experts and defense counsel in an effective and courteous manner.
  • Ownership of calendaring and scheduling deadlines.
  • Assist with pretrial preparation including drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits.
  • Communicate effectively with Partners and Associates

Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of Paralegal experience in Employment Litigation for Single Plaintiff (FEHA)
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and state and federal filing process
  • Working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure
  • Familiarity with DFEH and EEOC claims process.
  • Experience drafting Meet and Confer responses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of eFiling and California rules
  • Experience in Federal procedure is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills meticulous attention to detail and followup skills
  • Type at least 40 wpm

Compensation
  • $72000$100000 depending on experience
