Purpose: Performs custodial duties minor repairs and assists in sanitation control and safety checks at OSD and OSSB.
Performs cleaning and janitorial duties and ensures that assigned areas are maintained:
- Dusts and polishes furniture equipment mirrors and fixtures;
- Washes windows counters walls ceilings and woodwork;
- Sweeps scrubs and waxes floors;
- Vacuums carpets;
- Cleans furniture toilets/sinks;
- Resupplies restrooms;
- Empties trash containers;
- Transports materials to disposal area;
- Replaces light bulbs.
Maintains building accessibility and appearance:
- Picks up paper and trash;
- Removes ice and snow from entrances and sidewalks.
Maintains inventory of supplies:
- Checks stock to determine inventory levels;
- Reports needs to supervisor.
Creates and maintains a safe work environment:
- Complies with safety procedures rules and regulations;
- Posts warning signs; reads directions when using cleaning products;
- Follows safety precautions when removing blood and/or handling chemicals;
- Reports safety hazards and cleaning deficiencies to supervisor;
- Operates equipment according to manufacturers operating instructions.
Contributes to team effort:
- Provides assistance to staff (e.g. moves furniture sets up chairs tables stages and meeting rooms);
- Maintains knowledge (e.g. attends workshops and school inservices).

- Typical schedule: Monday Friday 4:30AM 1:00PM
- Possibility for working alternate shift as needed.
